There are occasions when I am ridiculously easily lead. All it took was a photo of pretty yarn, and the question, "Which one shall I send you?" and I found myself embarking on a World Cup Socks KAL. Thanks Rachel!
It was too much choice, so I left Rachel to decide which to send, and a few days later, I was the proud owner of the Italian ball of yarn. It's a very relaxed KAL. Just knit some socks in a team colour for one of the countries competing in the World Cup, and the team that's in for the longest wins. The other Rachel has a blog post over here if you want in (there's still time!).
As is often the case with striping socks, these are flying off the needles. I found myself knitting on them in bed on Saturday morning. I don't normally knit in bed, but it was a lovely relaxing start to the weekend, so I could be tempted to make it "a thing".
And now look at them!!! It's only Wednesday for heaven's sakes! I have absolutely no idea at all how they have grown so quickly, but I look to be on track to finish them before the World Cup is over and done with. Go me! To keep up with the competition, check out #WorldCupSocks on Instagram or Twitter (and do follow me on either of those - I'm JenACKnitwear on both).
Sorry to disappoint anyone who is currently wondering where the lovely yarn comes from... I'm afraid it is from the last World Cup, and Regia have since discontinued it. :-(
Talking of Rachel Coopey, she has a spangly new website. Oooh shiny! And what's more, if you can't get enough of my wittering here, then you can head over to her blog, where I will be chatting to her on a regular basis. Bookmark it now!
